KV-2

Voroshilov’s mighty box. The KV-2 in World of Tanks is about as elegant as it was in World War 2 – oversized, sluggish and cumbersome, poorly armored, but housing a huge gun that makes everyone tremble in fear. The story of the Battle of Raseiniai, and in turn the story behind the Raseiniai Heroes Medal in World of Tanks, tells of a lone KV-2 that single-handedly held off the German advance through the town of Raseiniai in Lithuania during Operation Barbarossa for an entire day.

Similarly, in World of Tanks, the KV-2 is capable of staring at a corner with its huge 152mm howitzer and preventing anything with a slither of sense from peaking it. Nobody wants to feed the beast. In case you’ve been living under a rock for the past… forever, and aren’t aware why the KV-2 has earned such a reputation, it’s one of the most deadly Glass Cannons in the game – boasting 910 alpha damage with its HE rounds. This makes it easily capable of deleting anything that looks at it funny from full health, providing it can penetrate. Even if it can’t, it’ll deal a sizeable chunk of splash damage – likely around half the hit points of an equal Tier Medium Tank.

Is the KV-2 a good Tank? No, not really, but it’s stupidly entertaining. Your armor won’t hold up, your mobility is terrible, and your firepower is unreliable to say the very least, but the KV-2 isn’t something you play for consistency. It’s something you play for that 1 in 1,000,000 shot as you snapshot an invisible light tank across Lakeville, leaving your enemy screaming “Russian Bias!”
