TIME magazine names Nintendo Switch one of 2017's best inventions

TIME magazine, the arbiters of who and what is important on a yearly basis, has named the Nintendo Switch one of its 25 best inventions of 2017.

The magazine, known best for its person of the year proclamations that recently haven’t been so good, has nevertheless made an easy call for the Switch’s debut year.

Alongside the Switch, which has transformed the way we think about the handheld and console delineation, there are Mars exploration robots and – of course – fidget spinners.

Ignoring some of the less prestigious members of the list, the Switch is clearly making big splashes outside of the core gaming world so the potential for the next Wii is still definitely on the table for the big N.
