The best indie games on Nintendo Switch

Nintendo's console is home to many gems.

Battle Chef Brigade

Battle Chef Brigade offers a unique blend of RPG elements, cooking sim mechanics, and monster hunting, among other features. In the game, you follow protagonist Mina on her quest to become Victusia's top chef. To do this, she'll need to slay fierce monsters in order to collect the freshest ingredients for her dishes. Battle Chef Brigade works not only because of its creativity, but because every aspect of the game blends well with each other... almost like one of Mina's carefully crafted dishes! If you're looking for something new on the Switch, you honestly can't go wrong with Battle Chef Brigade.

Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley quickly gained popularity on the Nintendo Switch thanks to some of the similarities it shares with another Nintendo property, Harvest Moon. Aside from comparisons to Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley is nothing short of an exceptional farming sim with engaging RPG elements thrown into the mix. Stardew Valley is truly a game you can spend hours playing on the Switch without ever feeling bored. Plus, it's a great option for gamers looking to relax away some stress. While it's available on just about every platform under the sun, we can't help but recommend it on the Switch thanks to the console's convenient portability.

Snake Pass

Snake Pass was among the first indie titles to release for the Nintendo Switch, and has slithered underneath the radar ever since. Despite being a truly underrated game, Snake Pass manages to feel like a perfect fit for the Nintendo Switch both in terms of gameplay and design. In a nutshell, Snake Pass features a variety of worlds (Earth, Water, Fire, Air) that you navigate through as Noodle the Snake. It's an adorable platformer and with a bit of a retro vibe that's hard not to fall in love with.

Golf Story

Golf Story is exactly what its name suggests. It follows the story of a young golfer on a quest to become a pro. To accomplish their goal, they have to slowly progress through the ranks in order to reach the pinnacle of golfing success. Golf Story has a solid focus on story, but also offers RPG elements to help keep the game interesting. What's more, there’s an in-depth golfing system that's truly a joy to master. Whether you like golf or are simply interested in playing a solid RPG, we highly recommend giving Golf Story a try on the Nintendo Switch!
