Resident Evil 2 Collector's Edition revealed

Survival horror remake gets some sweet bonus loot.

Capcom's long-awaited updated remake of survival horror classic Resident Evil 2 is getting a pretty sweet Collector's Edition when it launches on January 25 next year. The GameStop and EB Games exclusive will cost $199 with in-store preorders open now.

Here's what you get:

That's a tasty Raccoon City P.D. item crate containing the full game on disc, a code for the Deluxe DLC, the digital soundtrack, a blueprint poster of the renovated Raccoon City police HQ, a book containing journalist character Ben Bertolucci's images and documents from the aftermath of the game's events and a figurine of Leon Kennedy in his classic RCPD uniform.

The game itself, of course, is a complete top-to-bottom remake of the 1998 zombie classic. As well as completely redesigned visuals, it ditches the fixed camera angles of the original in favor of the over-the-shoulder third-person view introduced in Resident Evil 4, and also updates the soundtrack. You can, if you wish, swap back to the original PlayStation era music.

Here's how the game is shaping up...
