Enjoy this 10 minute tour of Shadow of the Tomb Raider's vast hub city

Typical tourists...

If you can't wait for Lara Croft's return in Shadow of the Tomb Raider later this year, why not tweak your anticipation further with a guided tour of the game's gigantic hub city of Paititi in the company of narrative director Jason Dozois?

Paitit is the largest hub area ever in a Tomb Raider game, and it's where Lara will go to recharge and restock during he quest to prevent the Mayan apocalypse. It's designed like a real city too, with distinct districts dedicated to fishing and commerce, residential areas, a sacred religious center and a town square. The inhabitants will speak their own language for maximum immersion, although you can opt to have them speak in your chosen audio language instead.

More importantly, Paititi will offer numerous gameplay benefits. As well as being able to refill her inventory at the marketplace, Lara can increase her knowledge of the Mayan language by translating murals, which in turn will provide hints to secret areas in the wider game world. She can also undertake side quests for the Paititi inhabitants, earning XP, weapons and additional story info, and she can discover bonus challenge tombs within the city limits adding even more gameplay - and offering cool rewards.

If you'd like to book a trip to Paititi, Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be available for PS4, Xbox One and PC from September 13.
