In Monster Hunter: World, only three monsters drop the material, Sharp Claw. The monsters that drop Sharp Claw include:
- Girros: Found in Rotten Vale, also available in quests Radobaan Roadblock, Into the Bowels of the Vale, and Chef Quest! A Rotten Request.
- Shamos: Found in Coral Highlands, also available in quests Ballooning Problems, Legiana: Embodiment of Elegance, Old World Monster in the New World, and It’s a Crying Shamos.
- Jagras: Found in the Ancient Forest, also available in quests Jagras of the Ancient Forest, A Kestodon Kerfuffle, The Great Jagras Hunt, Big-Brained Bandit, Urgent: Pukei-Pukei Hunt, Flying Sparks: Tobi-Kadachi, The Encroaching Anjanath, A Fiery Throne Atop the Forest, Fungal Flexin’ in the Ancient Forest, Butting Heads with Nature, A Thicket of Thugs, The Great Glutton, Camp Crasher, Scatternut Shortage, and The Current Situation.
According to the Monster Hunter Wiki, Girros has a 15% chance of dropping Sharp Claw, while both Shamos and Jagras have a 20% drop chance. As such, we recommend farming Sharp Claw from Shamos and Jagras, rather than Girros if possible.
Another thing you may notice is that Jagras is found in far more quests than either Girros or Shamos, giving you more opportunity to encounter Jagras and earn Sharp Claw as a drop. With Sharp Claw, players can craft the following weapons:
