How to get Bells and Leaf Tickets in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp

Avoid spending real money by using our handy guide.

Animal Crossing has always been about crafting new items, making new friends and earning enough money to keep Tom Nook’s grubby paws at bay. In Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, you play the owner of a campsite, where you must help out your campers, forge relationships with them, and slowly improve the campsite for your guests.

As with most mobile games, Pocket Camp forces players to either wait several hours or pay real money to speed certain processes up. Buying items, crafting and taking out loans all require healthy amounts of money, and if you’re running low, things can become rather difficult. Luckily, we’ve put together a handy guide to ensure you spend as little as possible, while keeping your campers happy and your bank account healthy.

How to earn Bells in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp

Bells are used to purchase and craft furniture, upgrade your camper van, and buy new outfits, so what are the best ways to earn them?

Fulfil camp requests – The simplest way to earn Bells (Animal Crossing’s in-game currency) is by fulfilling requests from the various campers who’ve come to your site. Fulfilling each camper’s request will earn you a few hundred Bells on a regular basis, while also raising their friendship level. Friendship levels will grant you further bonuses every time you fulfil a request, so make sure you keep on good terms with your fellow campers!

Collect and harvest items – Collecting fruit, catching bugs and selling a whole bunch of fish can be a great way to earn a few Bells if you’re in need of a quick buck. You’ll regularly get told to list harvested items in your Market Box, which other real-life players can purchase from you. You’ll be able to set your own prices for these items, so it’s often best to bulk them together and sell them for a reasonable price. Real-life players aren’t as generous as your fellow campers, so don’t expect any big money deals here.

Look out for rare items – Both your fishing rod and bug net can bring in the big Bells if you know what you’re looking for. Just like in previous Animal Crossing entries, you can catch certain fish and insects that will fetch a much higher price than your usual common items. For easy rare insects, simply walk past the coconut palm trees and wait until you see the larger beetles appear. Each Horned Dynastid you catch will grant you 100 Bells, while the Miyama Stag fetches a whopping 1500 Bells. Meanwhile, rare fish can be seen via the larger shadows they cast, so be on the lookout if you want to net yourself a prize.

Head to the Shovelstrike Quarry – Shovelstrike Quarry is one of the best ways to earn those elusive Bells, but it’s also one of the most awkward. The quarry allows you to mine for gold, silver, rubies and sapphires, which can be sold for Bells or used as part of a craft order. However, there’s a catch. Players have to either use 20 Leaf Tickets to access the area, or gather five friends to mine for minerals. Spending Leaf Tickets will allow you to access this area as much as you want, while receiving aid from friends limits you to only one mine run a day. We advise against using your Leaf Tickets here and to simply expand your friend list to avoid spending any real money.

How to earn Leaf Tickets in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp

Leaf Tickets can be used to buy special furniture and items, as well as upgrade things like your inventory space and crafting slots. There aren't many ways to unlock Leaf Tickets without spending your hard-earned cash, but there are a few things you can do to receive these tickets for free.

Leveling up – There's no real secret to be found here, but if you keep completing requests and talking to campers, you’ll gradually earn yourself a bundle of Leaf Tickets. You'll level up a bit faster if you help all the campers rather than just one, so the best way to earn those tickets is to keep busy in-game. If you can't complete the requests, simply talk to the campers to increase your friendship levels. Doing this will grant bonuses and help with your level grinding.

Complete stretch goals – Like most mobile games, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp has an achievement system that gives players in-game rewards for learning the game. To access your current stretch goals, simply tap the Isabelle icon or head over to the “More” tab. Completing these goals will reward you with Leaf Tickets, so make sure you do these.

Link your My Nintendo account – Linking your My Nintendo account will reward you with 50 free Leaf Tickets and the process literally takes five minutes. To link your account simply press the "More" tab at the bottom of the game and claim your free Leaf Tickets. If you don’t have a My Nintendo account, you can register one at Nintendo.com.
