How to access the Dreaming City in Destiny 2: Forsaken

The mysterious Dreaming City awaits for those who know how to reach it in Destiny 2: Forsaken.

With the release of Forsaken, the Dreaming City is far more than an idle fancy in Destiny 2, though reaching it is no simple feat. Unlike most locations, the Dreaming City can’t be reached via fast-travel, and requires very specific criteria to be met before it’s open to access. The Dreaming City is an intriguing place to explore, certainly,  but first you need to know how to get there. In this article we’ll teach you how to access the Dreaming City in Destiny 2: Forsaken.

  • Beat the Forsaken campaign
  • Visit Petra Venj
  • Complete the Broken Awoken Amulet questline

The first thing you’ll need to do on your path to the Dreaming City is to beat the Forsaken campaign. What, you thought you could just roll on into Forsaken’s endgame without avenging Cayde? No such luck, pal! Once you’ve beaten the story, head over to Petra Venj to get started.

Petra Venj will hand over a Broken Awoken Talisman, and you’re going to need to fix it before you can go any further. This mission has a recommended power level of 500, so you’d best make sure you’re prepared before starting out. It’s a long series of missions in which you’ll repaid and charge the Talisman, meaning it’s well worth making sure you’re at a suitable level before starting. Of course, those confident in their shooting and dodging skills can challenge themselves at a lower level.

Follow Petra’s quest line through and eventually you’ll be taken to the place we’ve been after all along: the Dreaming City. After meeting Petra Venj there at the culmination of the quest chain, you’ll then be given free reign to explore the zone. There’s plenty to discover in the Awoken land, so enjoy exploring to see what you can find!
