While Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is a great game, it’s arguably an even better wallpaper supplier. Recreating Ancient Greece with mythical beings and creatures brought to life, Odyssey offers plenty of luscious Greek islands to explore and admire. With so much screenshot fodder, it’s no surprise that players are keen to access the game’s Photo Mode so they can really capture some epic vistas. In addition to removing the HUD, the Photo Mode lets you edit your shots with custom filters, allowing you to tweak each image to your heart’s content. In this article we’ll teach you how to use the photo mode, edit your pictures and even share them with friends in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
How to use Photo Mode
Before lining up that perfect shot, you should first check if Photo Mode is enabled. Open the Options menus and move to the Gameplay tab. In here, look to see if Photo Mode is enabled, and switch it on if it isn’t. With that enabled you can exit the menu and get ready to capture some splendorous landscapes
To snap a photo, you’ll need to find the spot you want an image of in game first. Once you’re there, you simply need to click both the left and right analogue sticks in at the same time (that’s L3 and R3 simultaneously). This will open up the Photo Mode, letting you adjust your shot and edit your image as desired.
How to edit your photos
When you enter the Photo Mode, you’ll be given the chance to pan the camera about a bit in Composition Mode, adjusting your angle and view to find your favorite shot. You can also zoom in and out using the triggers, and should you accidentally mess your view up too much, a click of the right analogue stick will reset you again.
Once you’ve found the angle you want, the real fun begins with filters. Click in the left analogue stick and you’ll open up the edition menu which contains a swathe of features you can scroll through with the D-Pad. You can now tweak the exposure, brightness, depth of field and more until satisfied. Once you’re finished, return to the main Composition Mode where a simple tap of X on PS4 or A on Xbox One will save the image to your console gallery. If playing online, you image will appear on the in-game map alongside other photos players have shared.
