Where to get Wood in Fallout 76

Wood is commonplace is Fallout 76, but you should still make sure you know how to gather it.

Crafting in Fallout 76 is an easy thing to lose many hours in, and who could blame you when building up a base C.A.M.P is such fun. However, if you’re going to spend a long time building you should make sure you know how to get your hands on plenty of wood. It’s an easy material to get, but you can’t just grab it from any old tree. In this guide we’ll teach you where and how to get wood in Fallout 76.

Unlike other survival games, we’re afraid to say that you can’t hack down each and every tree you find in Fallout 76 no matter how much you hate nature and are convinced that the trees are watching you (just us? Okay…). Instead you should be looking for and logs or trees that have fallen down. Simply walk up to them and you’ll be given the chance to harvest some wood with the gather command. You’ll find logs all over the place, so just have a wander and collect what you come across along the way. You can also find wood while looting various buildings, when you’re scavenging for metal and other items keep an eye out for wood left in abandoned buildings. You’re going to need a lot of wood while building, so get used to repeating this process over and over.

While it’s simple to get some much needed wood in Fallout 76 at least, there’s also much more you need to know if you want to survive in its surprisingly verdant wasteland, and our guides can help. Here’s how to save the game, while this guide teaches you how to get purified water. After some Power Armor? We’ve got you covered there too. Check back again soon as we have plenty more guides for Fallout 76 on the way!
