How to unlock new weapons in Hades

Learn how to unlock new weapons by exploring the Underworld of Hades.

In Hades, the first question most players ask is how to unlock new weapons. At the beginning of the game, Zagreus will use his Stygian Blade to vanquish foes. While exploring the Underworld, you’ll need to collect Skeleton Keys in order to unlock new weapons. To expand the information and viability of each weapon, you’ll need to slay a set number of foes and expand your Codex of the Underworld.

To view this information, hold C to open your Codex of the Underworld. There, you’ll find listings on each weapon available to you in Hades. Struggling to expand your arsenal of weapons? We’ve got you covered! Below, we’ve put together a quick guide on how to unlock new weapons in Hades!

To unlock new weapons in Hades, you’ll need to explore the Underworld and collect Skeleton Keys. As expected, you’ll want to pay attention to the door symbols that precede each area in Hades. By entering a door with a Skeleton Key symbol and vanquishing all enemies within that area, you’ll be able to earn a Skeleton Key.

After you die and respawn back in the House of Hades, you can take your Skeleton Keys over to the weapons area. There, you’ll notice different weapons lined up along the wall along with their Skeleton Key cost. As long as you have enough Skeleton Keys on hand, you can interact with the weapon and unlock it in exchange for Skeleton Keys.

Right now, we’ve unlocked four different weapons in Hades also known in the Codex of the Underworld as “Infernal Arms.” Below, you’ll find a list of all four Infernal Arms in Hades.
