Apex Legends - Tier List

Where all eight Legends characters rank on our official tier list for Apex Legends.

If you’re looking to sink your teeth into Apex Legends, you may be wondering where the eight different Legends characters rank on a tier list. While all of the characters are viable in their own way, some character abilities are undoubtedly more useful than others. When playing in Squads, you’ll want to pick characters that complement each other if possible.

For example, using Bloodhound to track, Lifeline to heal, and Wraith to deal damage. To break things down even further, we’ve put together a complete tier list for all eight characters available in Apex Legends!

  • S Tier: Wraith

  • A Tier: Bangalore, Bloodhound

  • B Tier: Lifeline, Mirage

  • C Tier: Gibraltar

  • D Tier: Pathfinder

  • E Tier: Caustic

As noted above, all of the characters in Apex Legends can be viable in battle depending on the circumstances of the match. Wraith is high among the top picks in Apex Legends due in large part to her versatile, fluid movement capabilities which make it easy to get the jump on opponents. In terms of firepower, Bangalore has the most damage output potential thanks to her ultimate ability, Rolling Thunder. Even when it fails to land, it can pressure enemies to relocate if they're holding down an area, giving you a chance to pick them off.

Continuing down the list, Bloodhound is another good choice thanks to his ability to track enemies, especially ones hiding in tight corridors. Lifeline and Mirage are also solid, and can be crucial when building a well-rounded Squad. At C-tier, Gibraltar isn’t inherently awful, but his shield usage can feel limited at times and his size makes him easy to spot and hit.

Meanwhile, Pathfinder and Caustic both need slight buffs in order to help them live up to their potential. Pathfinder’s yellow ziplines are easy for enemies to spot and follow, and are only workable during the early stages of the game when hunting down loot and reaching areas ideal for sniping nearby enemies. Towards the end of the match though, there’s typically not enough room to properly launch the ziplines, rendering them useless.

Wraith, Bloodhound, and Bangalore are high on the Apex Legends tier list, while Pathfinder and Caustic are at the bottom.

Lastly, the idea behind Caustic is fun, but his gas needs a damage buff. As of right now, setting up traps is more tedious than useful. At the beginning of the match, the gas can provide an advantage, but once you and your opponents loot proper weapons, it’s better to rely on firepower to get the job done.

Note that we opted to rank Caustic below Pathfinder due to the fact that you need to pay Legend Tokens or Apex Coins to unlock him, while Pathfinder is immediately available. In the future when additional Legends characters become available and tweaks are made by Respawn, we’ll be sure to update this tier list.
