The best weapons in Mordhau are ones capable of dealing high amounts of damage, ones that are fast, and ones with a significant amount of range. By keeping these factors in mind when choosing a weapon, you’ll be better prepared for all combat scenarios. What’s nice is that in Mordhau, you have the ability to hold multiple weapons at once and switch between them using your number keys.
For example, if you have Falchion in your 1 slot and a Rapier in your 2 slot, you can switch between the two by pressing 1 or 2 depending on the weapon you wish to use. Note that the weapon you use will depend on the scenario. If you’re surrounded by multiple enemies, a weapon with long range and high damage capability like the Zweihander is recommended over a shorter range weapon like the Falchion.
In a Battle Royale scenario where you have limited weapon options available, picking up something versatile like the Longsword is always a solid option. Having a bow on hand can also be worthwhile when it comes to picking enemies off from afar, just be sure to have a different weapon type in your inventory for close 1v1 duals.

Another thing to keep in mind is the type of armor your opponent is wearing. Blunt weapons are more effective against heavy armor, while “stabby” weapons like the Rapier are more effect against light armor. Some blunt weapons (and swords like the Zweihander) are heavy, with heavier weapons depleting your stamina at a much faster pace.
This is another reason to have more than one weapon available in your inventory. The Zweihander is great against multiple opponents, but will quickly drain you of stamina in a dual and leave you vulnerable.
