THQ to reveal new Darksiders at E3

A little internet sleuthing has uncovered evidence suggesting one of the games THQ Nordic plans to show at E3 is a new Darksiders title.

Last week, THQ Nordic shared plans to reveal not one, but two secret titles at E3 2019. Information on the identity of these games was kept to a bare minimum. The only thing provided outside of a reveal date of June 10 were descriptions attached to each title. One was described as the “long-awaited return of a galactically beloved game/franchise” and the other as a “new vision of a beloved game/franchise.”

Some pointed to TimeSplitters, others to Red Faction. However, it now appears that neither of these guesses are correct.

Update: We've received added clarification from @Afro_Gear in regards to the screenshot. According to Afro, THQN_Reinhard is Reinhard Pollice, a verified employee of THQ Nordic. "He was in the AMA answering questions and he (my guess accidentally) posted this clipboard image. It was deleted a couple minutes later."

5/31/19: A listing on the official E3 Coliseum website reveals a Darksiders panel from THQ, further verifying the following information.

On Twitter, user Afro_Gear shared a screenshot taken from THQ Nordic’s disastrous attempt at an AMA on 8chan back in February. The image was uploaded by THQN_Reinhard and shows a list of titles planned out for E3 2019. While there are familiar names on there like Biomutant, most of the others have yet to be properly announced including Darksiders: Genesis.

Does this mean fans can expect a brand new Darksiders game? If we had to wager a guess, we’d say this could be the “new vision of a beloved game/franchise” that THQ Nordic plans to share at E3. With the success of Darksiders as a franchise, a new spinoff game is definitely within the realm of possibility.

As for the “long-awaited return of a galactically beloved game/franchise,” the list also features Destroy All Humans. It’s possible this indicates a remaster of the original game from 2005. Of course, we also see other classic titles like Monster Jam and Desperados teased, though they don’t quite fit the “galactic” clue.

You also have games like Monkey King on the list with a question mark attached, indicating this may not be the final list of games shown at E3 but rather games that THQ Nordic has up their sleeve for the future. THQN_Reinhard could also be trolling 8chan users with this information, though having games on there that match the company’s E3 plans would suggest otherwise.

We’ll leave it up to you. Do you think the information is legitimate, or do you think THQ Nordic still has a TimeSplitters remake planned? Let us know down in the comments below, and stay tuned as we’ll be updating this story as new information becomes available at E3 2019!

Thanks again to Afro_Gear for the screenshot!
