Xbox One YouTube app gets 4K/60fps support

Update is available now.

Xbox One owners can finally unlock high-end viewing options for the console's downloadable YouTube app following an update.

Next time you load up the app, you'll be invited to download a patch that adds 4K resolution - aka Ultra HD - support.

The update also enables 60fps playback.

With that, Xbox One S and Xbox One X become probably the most fully rounded media playback consoles on the market, offering UHD functionality for everything including 4K Blu-rays, which the rival PS4 Pro baffling does not support.
