The Witcher Netflix series has officially finished filming
The Witcher Netflix series has offiically wrapped up filming, ensuring that the wait won't be much longer until fans of the fantasy franchise can see how this team put it all together with an interesting cast list and bountiful novels for inspiration.
Lauren Hissrich took to social media to share a photo of herself smiling and celebrating the final shot for the upcoming show:
That’s a wrap on season one! I have enough gray hair to play Geralt now, but it’s been the best year of my life. So grateful to the writers, the cast, and the exceptional crew who worked their asses off to make the Continent come to life. Now, onto... pic.twitter.com/BBuPYco1ER— Lauren S. "That’s a wrap on season one," cheers showrunner Lauren Hissrich in a recent tweet. "I have enough gray hair to play Geralt now, but it’s been the best year of my life. So grateful to the writers, the cast, and the exceptional crew who worked their asses off to make the Continent come to life. Now, onto..."
There are a lot of reasons to be excited for the 8-episode series, especially since a season 2 has already been greenlit. With Man of Steel's Henry Cavill taking on the role of Geralt himself alongside Freya Allan as Ciri, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, and Anna Shaffer as Triss Merigold, it's a cast that not many expected, making it truly a surprise for all Witcher fans both of the books and the games.
For those worried about the upcoming show not staying true to the source material, which is the books, the author of the series himself is acting as the creative consultant for the Netflix crew, ensuring that what transpires on screen is true to the source material.
"The Witcher Geralt, a mutated monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts," boasts the official show's tagline. Hopefully with filming wrapped, Netflix will feel inspired to share a more official announcement here soon. Maybe even at their E3 showcase?Back To Top
