Battalion 1944 will cost just $14.99

Henry Stenhouse spent his younger life studying the laws of physics, even going so far as to complete a PhD in the subject before video game journalism stole his soul. You'll find Henry chugging along the news train most days, throwing out features into the wild and finding any excuse possible to talk about esports when he can.

Formerly of the freelance life, Henry held such esteemed (read: imaginary) titles as PC Gamer's go-to CS:GO freelancer, and has been smitten with the competitive shooter life since growing up on the slopes of Dust2.

Henry's experience culminated in his role as AllGamer's premium FPS player, meaning he's won at least a single game of PUBG, we promise. Henry is also a fan of all things Nintendo and strategy, and still can't get over just how good Breath of the Wild is.

If you'd like to send Henry free stuff (he'll take a Vive Pro, thanks) contact him via email at or catch him on Twitter, here.

As an 'in-development' game.

Crowdfunded WW2 shooter, Battalion 1944, will cost only $14.99 when it launches in Early Access in 2018.

The price is less than the lowest tier of the game’s Kickstarter pledge, but to reward those who’d helped them progress development thus far, anyone who pledged during the initial drive will receive exclusive skins and cosmetic loot crates.

The low price comes from the Early Access listing for the game, Bulkhead Interactive’s Joe Brammer explained:

“The market has changed so much since we first started work on Battalion 1944, and as players we felt like we wanted to see a fairer approach to pricing in-development video games.”

Battalion 1944 was announced before CoD: WW2, and was intended to bring back the style and feelings evoked by older FPS games like CoD 2, taking it back to the World War 2 setting of older shooters that the developers grew up playing.

Considering the team’s experience and previous discussion, we can expect a much more toned down experience when compared to more recent CoDs, stripping away the noise and spectacle of killstreaks and gadgets for a more skill-centric game.

The official trailer for the game will be coming January 9th, so look forward to seeing more of the title then.
