Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris Lost Prophecies guide

How to unlock the Lost Prophecies, find materials and create all 11 Forge Weapons.

Among the endgame activities available via Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris, the mysterious Lost Prophecies feel closest to the grinding involved during Destiny in year one. The Prophecies are a series of ‘quests’ that grant 11 unique Legendary weapons, each one requiring specific materials to unlock. These materials are acquired by opening loot chests, completing Strikes of all difficulty levels, and upon completing regular Crucible or Trials of the Nine matches.

Owing to dependency on RNG drop rates, the materials can take hours to accumulate, but they drop on any region – not just Mercury. If you are routinely playing the breadth of endgame activities in Destiny 2, all 11 specially forged weapons shall be yours eventually.

How to unlock Lost Prophecies

First, you’ll need to complete the main story missions: The Gateway, A Deadly Trial, Beyond Infinity, Deep Storage, Tree of Possibilities, Hijacked, A Garden World, and Omega. Next, Mercury vendor Brother Vance lays three new Adventures before you: The Up and Up, The Runner, and Bug in the System. Finally, you have the choice of completing any one of these three Adventures on Heroic difficulty. Succeed and Brother Vance bestows Lost Prophecies, Verse 1 upon you. After this, there is a choice of running order, roughly mirroring difficulty. Verses 1-10 are all grind-oriented across activities, only Verse 11 provides a short quest.

Where to find materials for Lost Prophecies

Brother Vance requires three material types in varying quantities, which he will upgrade to the necessary components used in the Lighthouse Forge specific to each Legendary weapon.

One Concentrated Radiolarian Culture is equal to 10 Radiolarian Culture samples that are routinely gained from public events and all types of loot chests littered across the planets.

One Advanced Paradox Amplifier is equal to 10 Paradox Amplifiers, randomly awarded after all Strikes including Standard, Heroic and Nightfall. Also, for completing all Crucible matches and conquering Heroic Adventures on Mercury.

Fossilized Hermaion Blossom is the hardest material to come by, in terms of difficulty and time consumed. It is a rare drop from Heroic Strikes, Nightfall strikes and Trials of the Nine. Only five weapons require Fossilized Hermaion Blossom to forge, with 10 needed in total.

Bear in mind that since both Fossilized Hermaion Blossom and Paradox Amplifiers drop from Heroic Strikes, these are the most time-effective endgame destination for Lost Prophecies.

Full List of Forge Weapons and Materials

‘Garden Progeny 1’ Scout Rifle (Verse 1)

High-Impact Frame means slow-firing and high-damage. The standard perk is Outlaw, with choices of Extended Barrel, Polygonal Rifling, Arrowhead Brake for the barrel; Tactical Mag, Steady Rounds or Armor-Piercing Rounds for ammo. It is considered good for PvP.

Requirements: 1 x Concentrated Radiolarian Culture

‘The Conqueror 2’ Submachine Gun (Verse 2)

Adaptive Frame makes this SMG reliable and sturdy, with the standard Kill Clip perk allowing increased damage from the reload after a kill. Choose from Hammer-Forged Rifling, Polygonal Rifling or Fluted Barrel to balance range and damage. Steady Rounds, Extended Mag and Tactical Mag are the options for ammo use.

Requirements: 2 x Concentrated Radiolarian Culture, 1 x Advanced Paradox Amplifier

‘Jack Queen King 3’ Hand Cannon (Verse 3)

Combines boosted agility of Lightweight Frame with onboard Pulse Monitor perk to keep its user out of harm’s way, the latter reloading part of the magazine when health is critical. Choice of sights are Fastdraw HCS, TrueSight HCS and HitMark HCS. Ammo can be Ricochet Rounds, Tactical Mag, or Accurized Rounds, to trade range for stability.

Requirements: 1 x Concentrated Radiolarian Culture, 2 x Advanced Paradox Amplifier

‘Machina Dei 4’ Pulse Rifle (Verse 4)

Ambitious Assassin overflows the magazine based on rapid kills before each reload. It has High-Impact Frame, so is slow-firing, but the choice of barrels can improve agility or boost impact with Extended Barrel, Chambered Compensator and Fluted Barrel optioned. Ammo-wise it’s High-Caliber Rounds, Appended Mag or Tactical Mag, tailored toward clearing adds.

Requirements: 3 x Concentrated Radiolarian Culture

‘Travelers Judgement 5’ Sidearm (Verse 5)

The Headseeker perk plays well to the Sidearm’s purpose, rewarding increased precision shots after body shots. This has an Adaptive Frame for a 3-round burst. Sights include Tactic SAS, Target SAS and Farpoint SAS. Choose from Armor-Piercing Rounds, Accurized Rounds or Steady Rounds. Could be useful against larger PvE targets and duelling in PvP.

Requirements: 3 x Advanced Paradox Amplifier, 1 x Fossilized Hermaion Blossom

‘Sol Pariah 6’ Submachine Gun (Verse 6)

Lightweight Frame means you move faster with this equipped, complementing the Grave Robber perk that reloads a portion of the magazine after a melee kill. Handling is further decided from Arrowhead Brake, Chambered Compensator or Smallbore barrels. Flared Magwell and Phase Magazine trade reloads for magazine size, or take Ricochet Rounds.

Requirements: 2 x Concentrated Radiolarian Culture, 2 x Advanced Paradox Amplifier

‘West of Sunfall 7’ Hand Cannon (Verse 7)

Auto-Loading Holster is a good all-round perk, while the Precision Frame makes long-range shots easier to land. The recoil pattern is pure vertical. This is backed by Crossfire HCS, SteadyHand HCS or Sureshot HCS sights, with High-Caliber Rounds, Extended Mag or Accurized Rounds in the chamber.

Requirements: 1 x Advanced Paradox Amplifier, 2 x Fossilized Hermaion Blossom

‘Infinite Paths 8’ Pulse Rifle (Verse 8)

Another PvE choice, with Dragonfly creating an elemental explosion after precision kills, ideal for mob control. Lightweight Frame boosts handling and movement speed. Options include Arrowhead Brake, Corkscrew Rifling and Full Bore for the Barrel. Alloy Magazine, Accurized Rounds and Drop Mag (wasteful but boosts reload speed) for ammo.

Requirements: 2 x Advanced Paradox Amplifier, 2 x Fossilized Hermaion Blossom

‘Null Calamity 9’ Auto Rifle (Verse 9)

Stability characterizes the main set-up, with Adaptive Frame and Zen Moment as standard. Chambered Compensator, Hammer-Forged Rifling and Smallbore affect the barrel, while Flared Magwell, Tactical Mag and Appended Mag (more bullets) govern ammo supplies.

Requirements: 2 x Concentrated Radiolarian Culture, 2 x Fossilized Hermaion Blossom

‘Future Safe 10’ Sword (Verse 10)

The En Garde perk adds damage to quick attacks immediately after being drawn. It has Jagged Edge (damage at the expense of ammo), Hungry Edge (more ammo), Burst Guard (defence over efficiency) or Balanced Guard (efficiency over defence) as options on the Adaptive Frame, which makes Future Safe 10 reliable and sturdy.

Requirements: 3 x Fossilized Hermaion Blossom

‘Perfect Paradox’ Shotgun (Verse 11)

A Full Auto shotgun that has Rapid-Fire Frame to encourage blasting until the weapon is empty. The Rampage perk increases damage after a kill, stacking up to three times. Spread and distance is governed by Full Choke, Rifled Barrel or Smoothbore. Steady Rounds, Flared Magwell or Accurized Rounds manage reload speed versus range and recoil behaviour.

Requirements: Complete the questline ‘Legends Lost’, taking you back into the Infinite Forest in search of Saint-14. It has two missions: Signal Light, and Not Even the Darkness.
