How to unlock all characters in Crash Team Racing
In Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, a common question asked by gamers is how to unlock all characters. While some characters are available right at the beginning of the game, others have certain requirements that must be met before they unlock. Some of these requirements are as simple as grabbing them from the Pit Stop, while others are tied to in-game play.
If you’re struggling to unlock one or more characters in Crash Team Racing, we’ve got you covered. Below, we’ve put together a guide breaking down how to unlock all 25 characters in Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled!
How to Unlock All Characters in Crash Team Racing
As noted above, there are 25 unlockable characters in total, and several of these characters are unlocked and available at the beginning of Crash Team Racing. Using these characters, you’ll be able to unlock other characters through in-game play. You can also unlock characters via the Pit Stop. Below, we’ve listed all characters available at the start of Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled.
- Dr. N. Gin
- Dr. Neo Cortex
Using these 8 characters that are unlocked and available at the start of Crash Team Racing, you’ll be able to play through the game and unlock additional characters. There are 7 characters in Crash Team Racing that can be unlocked by progressing through the game, each of which we’ve listed below.
- Fake Crash: Earn the Purple Gem in Adventure Mode to unlock.
- Komodo Joe: Defeat Komodo Joe in Adventure Mode to unlock.
- N. Tropy: Beat all of N. Tropy’s Times in Time Trial Mode.
- Nitros Oxide: Defeat Nitros Oxide in Adventure Mode to unlock.
- Papu Papu: Defeat Papu Papu in Adventure Mode to unlock.

- Ripper Roo: Defeat Ripper Roo in Adventure Mode to unlock.
Outside of playing through Adventure Mode and defeating characters like Komodo Joe to unlock them in Crash Team Racing, you can acquire additional characters in the Pit Stop. In Crash Team Racing, the Pit Stop acts like a store where you’re able to purchase cosmetics like skins as well as characters in exchange for Wumpa Coins.
To earn Wumpa Coins, you’ll need to play through various aspects of the game, like Adventure Mode. Note that the Pit Stop inventory changes daily, meaning you can’t just hop in and purchase the rest of the game’s characters at once. Instead, you need to keep earning Wumpa Coins and checking back to see what new character is available for purchase.
Below, we’ve listed all characters that can be purchased from the Pit Stop in exchange for Wumpa Coins in Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled.
- Big Norm
- N. Trance
- Real Velo
- Small Norm
