PUBG sold 1m copies on Xbox One in 48 hours

Profit unknown.

In its opening weekend on Xbox One, already successful PC battle royale game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds hit the 1 million copies mark.

Microsoft announced the wholly unsurprising stat a week after its launch, as the game continued to be the most downloaded through its Game Preview program.

It will perhaps help even more now that purchases of the Xbox One X are receiving the $30 game for free in certain regions, but even without that slight padding that’s an awful lot of dollars heading Brendan Greene’s way.

The free PUBG promotion with new Xbox One X purchases begins today and runs through until December 31, but check your chosen retailer is offering the deal beforehand obviously.
