Weapons like the Sword of the Creator require special materials in order to Forge and Repair at the Blacksmith in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. The farther you get in the game, the more weapon options you’ll have available to you like the Sword of the Creator. In order to Forge and Repair these weapons at the Blacksmith, you’ll need to know how to get rare materials like Agarthium and Mythril in Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

What’s nice about some of these rare materials is that a lot of them can be acquired through Rare Monster Sightings. Other ways to get these materials include purchasing them from Merchants and Travelers. Below, we’ve listed all Forge materials and how to get them in Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

  • Agarthium: Rare Monster Sightings towards the end of the game, harder to acquire than other materials.
  • Arcane Crystal: Can be purchased from Dark Merchant towards the end of the game and in New Game Plus.
  • Black-Sand Steel: Can be purchased from Merchant, earned in Quest rewards, purchased from Travelers.
  • Mythril: Rare Monster Sightings, destroy armor, purchase from Travelers.
  • Smithing Stone: Most common Forge material. Can be purchased from Merchant, found on the ground, earned in Quest rewards, and purchased from Travelers.
  • Umbral Steel: Rare Monster Sightings, destroy armor, purchase from Travelers.
  • Wootz Steel: Rare Monster Sightings, destroy armor, purchase from Travelers.

For rare Forge materials, you’ll want to complete Rare Monster Sightings whenever possible. You can also interact with Travelers to see if they have any rare materials available for purchase. For Smithing Stones and Black-Sand Steel, you can purchase them directly from Merchants in the Marketplace. Meanwhile, completing Quests is also a great way to get Forge materials as a reward.
