Before you play Solo mode in Apex Legends, you’ll first need to download the latest update for the game if you haven’t already. With this update downloaded, launch Apex Legends. From the home screen, you can select the mode you wish to play above where you indicate whether you’re ready for the next match.

By default, the regular mode will be enabled. Select "Play Apex" to open the menu options and from there, select Apex Solo on the far right. With Apex Solo selected, you can then ready up and jump into a match. Wondering how character selection works? What’s nice about Apex Solo is the mode works similar to the regular game with players given a character select screen.

From the expanded mode options, select Apex Solo then ready up to jump into a match in Apex Legends.

After selecting your character, you’ll begin the match. Unlike the regular modes for Apex Legends, you won’t be able to coordinate with other players, meaning you’ll need to be a lot more careful where you land as you won’t have anyone around to revive or respawn you. Because of this, Apex Solo mode matches tend to be a bit faster paced as people quickly pick each other off.

When you’re tired of Apex Solo matches, you can switch back to other modes using the same method as before.
