New Octane skin for Apex Legends available via Twitch Prime

Twitch Prime is celebrating the Iron Crown Collection event in Apex Legends with a new Octane skin.

Twitch Prime is no stranger to giving away free cosmetics for Apex Legends, having offered a pack of goodies for the game shortly after its February 2019 release. With the recent debut of the Iron Crown Collection event in Apex Legends, Twitch Prime has decided to give away another exclusive, this time a skin for Octane. While not as expansive as the original Twitch Prime Pack for Apex Legends, nothing beats the low price of “free” when it comes to cosmetics either.

The new “Whiplash” skin for Octane is available to Twitch Prime users from August 13 until September 13. The offering fits nicely alongside the high Octane focus of the new Iron Crown Collection event. Not only does the event include the introduction of Octane's Gauntlet, one of the Iron Crown challenges is to go through Octane’s Gauntlet Ring of Fire while wearing armor, which we’ve detailed in this guide.

To grab the new Octane skin, all you need to do is “claim” it on the Apex Legends page of Twitch Prime. Note that you’ll need to sign into your Electronic Arts account and link it to your Twitch Prime account if you haven’t done so already. To ensure the Octane skin is sent to the correct location, double check that the EA account you’re linking is connected to your preferred Apex Legends platform.

For example, linking your Twitch Prime account to the EA account used on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or Origin on PC. Struggling to link your EA account? There’s a helpful FAQ page available on the company’s website that should help iron out any additional questions you may have. Once you’ve grabbed the Whiplash skin for Octane, you can equip it by opening up Apex Legends and navigating to the Legends tab.

There, select Octane and in the Skins section, look for the new Whiplash skin. Select the Whiplash skin to preview how it looks, confirm that you wish to equip it, then save before returning to the home screen. Scoping out the Apex Legends page on Twitch Prime, it looks like other cosmetics will be offered in the future, so it’s well worth checking back regularly to see what sort of free loot you can grab. In the meantime, be sure to grab the Whiplash skin for Octane before September 13!
