Eastward, a dual-character mystery from PIxpil and Chucklefish, is coming to Nintendo Switch in 2020 according to the latest trailer shown on today's Nintendo Indie World.
The game has you play as two characters John and Sam, an old digger and some small girl he finds deep underground, as you work together to solve puzzles in dungeons littered throughout a post-apocalyptic Japanese animation-inspired landscape.

There are plenty of other quirky characters, strange monsters, and other ruined cities to explore when Eastward releases on Nintendo Switch in 2020.
Development started on Eastward at Pixpil’s Shanghai office in 2015, with only 3 team members, using a game engine of the studio’s own making. Built around pixel artist Hong Moran’s original intricate post-apocalyptic pixel designs, and the team’s love of the Mother and The Legend of Zelda series and older Japanese animation styles, Pixpil were inspired to create a narrative driven RPG with a soft sci-fi storyline.
Eastward's unique art style mixes gorgeous 2D pixel art with 3D lighting to make an intriguing world full of mystery, and with music composed by Joel Corelitz (of Hohokum, The Unfinished Swan and Gorogoa) it's sure to sound as good as it looks.
Chucklefish's mystery game Eastward will release on Nintendo Switch in 2020.
