Assassin's Creed Origins gets loads of DLC this month

More quests, more trials, more gear, more everything.

Ubisoft has lots of Assassin's Creed Origins downloadable content lined up for release in January, including a free update and the game's first paid expansion, The Hidden Ones.

The free update will include a quest "to celebrate the arrival of the first expansion", a new option to sell outfits at weaver shops, and an update to Heka chests, which adds stuff from the Nightmare, First Civilization, Gladiator and Wacky packs to their item pool.

Then it's onto The Hidden Ones, which is a "major expansion" in which Bayek and the Assassins clash with the Romans in a new region. The Hidden Ones will also increase the game's level cap from 40 to 45, and is available for free to Season Pass holders.

Ubisoft also has more Trials of the Gods lined up, inviting you to take on Anubis from now until January 16, before tackling Sobek January 23-30.

There are also in-game store and Ubisoft Club updates adding new gear, all of which you can check out on the Assassin's Creed website.

Assassin's Creed Origins was hailed as a return to form when it came out late last year, the developers having used their extra year of development to build a richer world with refined mechanics, oodles of interesting content and more obvious attention to detail.
