Square Enix announces Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition

New features include the ability to drive the royal boat.

If you've been putting off buying Final Fantasy XV, then Square Enix hopes you will change your mind on March 6 when it launches the new Royal Edition of the game for PS4 and Xbox One, featuring buttloads of new content.

Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition will add all sorts of things to the already expansive RPG, including a new dungeon (Insomnia City Ruins: Expanded Map), a first-person mode, new gear, new bosses, Armiger Unleashed (an unlockable, "more action-oriented" mode of the Armiger), and the option to drive the Royal Vessel boat (and explore the body of water between Cape Caem and Altissia).

Phew. You'll also get all the existing Season Pass content - Episode Gladiolus, Episode Prompto, Multiplayer Expansion: Comrades, and Episode Ignis - plus various other bitty pieces of DLC that add weapons, Regalia car skins, and item sets.

If you already have Final Fantasy XV, Kotaku reports you'll be able to get your hands on the Royal Edition content for $19.99.

All in all it sounds like a pretty good deal, although if you literally just bought the original game the other day because you missed it the first time, you may now be filled with regret. (Grrr.)
