At Tier 5, the line splits, both of which lead to the T29, but if the focus is on the Medium tanks then the deviation to the M4 Sherman is recommended. The M4 Sherman is just an excellent all-around vehicle that offers a wide selection of guns with impressive armor penetration, a top of the line view range, and good gun depression to boot. Its armor is not the best, so try to ensure the front of the vehicle is facing the enemy as this is the strongest section.
The Easy Eight or its Jumbo Sherman cousin are two tanks that are worth investing time into as they both offer excellent gameplay moments.
The M4A3E8 Sherman is another hugely popular Medium tank in the USA Medium tank line as it boasts high damage and excellent gun depression. Using the high damage and the M4A3E8's high speed to flank is a good tactic, especially given its moderately good dispersion when on the move.
